JDW는 SingLab의 가정용 노래방 반주기 Singvana를 디자인했습니다. 제품의 형태는 직선과 곡선이 조화된 조형 언어로 구성되어 있으며, 장비가 가진 기술적 성격을 강조하면서도 작업 공간에 자연스럽게 녹아드는 제품으로 보이게 했습니다.
둥근 직사각형의 실루엣은 친근하고 안정적인 인상을 주며, 측면의 레이어 구조는 바디를 얇게 분절해 볼륨감을 시각적으로 슬림하게 조정했습니다. 동시에 이 레이어는 음향이 퍼져 나가는 느낌을 시각화하여 브랜드의 기능적 정체성을 표현했습니다.
이러한 형태적 구조는 제품이 기계 장치처럼 보이지 않고 하나의 오브제처럼 존재하도록 만들어 줍니다.
제품의 핵심 UX는 원형 다이얼 인터페이스입니다. 다이얼은 잡는 순간 기능을 예측할 수 있는 직관적인 조작감을 제공하며, 돌리고 누르는 단순한 인터랙션만으로도 주요 기능을 빠르게 제어할 수 있습니다. 다이얼에 적용된 라이트 링은 조작 단계와 상태를 즉각적으로 피드백하여 사용자가 현재 상황을 파악할 수 있도록 도와줍니다.
전면에 최소한으로 배치된 포트와 작은 인디케이터는 작업 명령을 명확하게 전달하며 불필요한 장식이나 텍스트를 제거한 미니멀한 디자인은 제품의 직관적인 사용을 목적으로 합니다
Singvana는 시각적 요소와 인터랙션이 분리되지 않고 연결되도록 설계된 제품입니다. 조형과 기능, 피드백과 조작이 하나의 흐름으로 이어져 사용자가 장비를 조작한다는 느낌보다는 음악 활동에 자연스럽게 참여하는 경험을 제공합니다.
JDW designed Singvana, SingLab’s home karaoke audio unit. The form language combines straight lines and gentle curves, highlighting the product’s technical character while allowing it to blend naturally into the user’s space.
The rounded rectangular silhouette gives a friendly and stable impression, and the layered structure along the sides visually breaks down the volume, making the body appear slimmer.
This layered design also evokes the diffusion of sound, visually reflecting the brand’s functional identity. As a result, the product avoids the appearance of a technical device and instead exists as a refined design object within the environment.
The core UX of Singvana centers on a circular dial interface. The dial offers intuitive control the moment it is held, enabling quick access to key functions through simple interactions—turning and pressing. A light ring integrated into the dial provides immediate visual feedback, helping users understand the status and mode at a glance.
Minimal ports and discreet indicators on the front clearly communicate essential functions, while the removal of unnecessary decoration or text keeps the interface simple and intuitive.
Singvana is designed so that visual elements and interactions are not separate but seamlessly connected. Form, function, feedback, and control flow together, allowing the user to engage naturally in the musical experience rather than feel like they are operating a device.
